Arsenal face tough trip to Turf Moor as bullish Burnley battle on

| 11.04.2015

Arsenal, odds-on at 4/7 to triumph at Turf Moor, may have now proven they have the bottle to beat fellow big-guns, but facing Premier League basement-dwellers Burnley is an entirely different prospect.

Arsene Wenger’s second-from-top side will have to be at their best to grind out a result against the Clarets, who recently held the Gunners’ London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham both to draws.

There may be a 37 point gap between these two teams, but Sean Dyche’s side certainly know how to dig their heels in on home turf, and are 3/1 to split the spoils for a second successive game, or 13/2 to shut out their guests.

The Clarets have lost just one of their last four in front of the Turf Moor faithful, but have struggled to score, with their last goal arriving in a shock win over Manchester City.

Sought-after Burnley striker Danny Ings has not found the net for six outings, but is 9/4 to return to form and hit home anytime against Arsenal, or 15/2 to fire in the first. Fellow forwards Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes are both available in the anytime market, at 5/1 and 7/2 respectively.

In-form Arsenal, meanwhile, will arrive in Lancashire aiming to secure second spot and put space between themselves and Manchester rivals City and United, who also meet this matchweek.

The Gunners can also make it eight wins in a row across all competitions if they scalp the Clarets, which would be the best run of any team this term.

Having smashed Liverpool last time out, Arsenal are a tempting 2/1 to go gung-ho again and hit three or more past Burnley, who they have notched up that number against in as many of their last four tussles.

Fierce French frontman Olivier Giroud looks the best bet for Gunners goals galore, after scoring seven in his last six league games, and is 5/1 to bag a brace or better, or 4/1 to draw first blood.

Should they be selected for this clash, midfielders Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey will reach Premier League appearance milestones of 100 and 150 respectively.

Cazorla is all about craft, but has seven league strikes to the cause this campaign, making the Spain international an excellent 10/3 to net anytime, while Ramsey is 7/4 in the same market.

Alexis Sanchez should also be in the mix and, after bagging a brace against Burnley back in November, is 7/1 to score as many or more again.
