*Has scored over the Grand National fences, in the 2m 5f Betfred Grand Sefton Chase in December, 2013. Since then he has jumped round twice, finishing 15th in the Crabbie’s Topham Chase at the National meeting last year and fifth in the Grand Sefton in December.

*Has won two out of seven races this season, most recently a 2m 4f handicap at Newbury in March, his trainer’s 100th winner of the season.

*Changed hands at auction for €6,500 as a foal, then £61,000 as an unraced four-year-old. Is from the family of high-class staying chaser Monsieur Le Cure.

David has also written for most of the top Premier League football fan websites, and produced a Cheltenham Festival guide with former eight-times champion national hunt jockey Peter Scudamore, MBE, after helping him to set up a syndicate for his trainer son Michael.
