Warrington host Leeds as St Helens travel to Widnes in Super League
The only two unbeaten sides in Super League are in action with Leeds Rhinos facing a potentially tricky match against Warrington and St Helens making the short trip to Denis Betts’ Widnes.
Warrington Wolves V Leeds Rhinos
The visitors are 11/10 with Coral to win and maintain their 100 per cent record this season and, following an impressive 43-12 away victory against Hull FC last time out, can be confident going into the match. Danny Maguire and Rob Burrow crossed the whitewash twice last time out, and are 13/8 and 5/2 respectively to do so again anytime.
Kallum Watkins also got on the scoresheet last time out, to go level on tries for the season with Tom Briscoe (three). The athletic centre is 11/1 to breach the in-goal area first, while Ryan Hall, who is on two tries for the season, is 8/1 in the same market.
The Wolves aren’t too far behind the Rhinos, and go hunting two points, knowing that a win will take them level with their visitors in the Super League table. They recorded a 32-24 victory over Hull KR last time out, though seem prone to conceding this season, having only a three point positive goal difference. Matthew Russell will be looking to add to the two tries he scored last term, and is 9/1 to cross first, while Gary Wheeler who also recorded four points is 7/4 in the anytime market.
St Helens V Widnes Vikings
Keiron Cunningham’s side play host to the Vikings and are odds-on at 3/10 to win the match and make it five victories out of five in the Super League. They were well tested against Wakefield last time out, recording a narrow 20-16 victory, the decisive factor being a penalty goal and a missed conversion from Wilcats’ Craig Hall.
Jordan Turner made it four tries for the season in West Yorkshire to become the club’s lead try-scorer for the season, and is 12/1 to cross first. Thomas Makinson, Mark Percival and Joe Greenwood are all level on three, though the latter scored at the Belle Vue and is 2/1 to do so again anytime.
The Vikings have had an indifferent season so far, and handed Huddersfield Giants their first victory last time out. Coach Betts will know that the Saints will provide a stern test, though his side are above last season’s finalists Wigan in the standings on goal difference.
Scrum half Joe Mellor scored last time out to take his tally to three, and is 13/8 to record four points anytime.
