Spurs seek summer swoop for Celta Vigo wideman Krohn-Dehli
Premier League top four hopefuls Tottenham will look to boost their attacking options this summer with a swoop for Celta Vigo wideman Michael Krohn-Dehli.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs, 11/2 with Coral to secure a Champions League place this season, will hope to acquire the services of 31-year-old Krohn-Dehli, after his delightful displays in Spain this term.
The Danish international’s current contract at Celta is set to expire this summer, with his imminent free transfer status attracting reported interest from several La Liga clubs Malaga, Sevilla and Villarreal, along with the White Hart Lane outfit.
Krohn-Dehli has made 24 Spanish league appearances so far this season, netting one key strike and contributing to his side’s astute attack with four fantastic assists.
The menacing Dane experienced some success on the international stage in his career, after striking the winner against Holland in a Euro 2012 encounter.
Although, Tottenham’s potential pursuit of the wonderful winger could depend on whether Aaron Lennon completes a permanent move to Goodison Park this year, having sealed a loan spell at Roberto Martinez’s Everton during the January transfer window.
Argentine boss Pochettino has had a relatively successful debut campaign in charge of Spurs, but due to a large number of games, his European pushers have suffered some fatigue in recent weeks.
A long run of both League Cup and Europa League fixtures can put a strain on any squad, with high demands meaning several key stars can pick up knocks along the course of a campaign.
However, Tottenham could look to boost their numbers and the quality on their flanks for next season with the securing of Krohn-Dehli’s signature later this year.
The experienced attacker has over 45 international caps for Denmark, and has reportedly also caught the eye of Scottish champions Celtic and Premier League side Newcastle United, but it seems the north Londoners are the favourites for his signature.
Spurs are odds-on 8/15 to finish in the top six, having climbed a single point ahead of Pochettino’s former club Southampton.
