Punters plunge on Brown Panther to win Dubai Gold

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Brown Panther was the subject of some significant ante post support this morning for Saturday’s Dubai Gold Cup prompting Coral to cut him to 4/1 favourite from 9/2.

The betting markets on the Dubai meeting suddenly sparked into life today with a number of horses attracting decent support.

Solow, the Freddie Head trained challenger for the Dubai Turf, was one of the best backed horses today and is now the 5/2 clear favourite from 3/1 with Coral who pushed the main market rival, The Grey Gatsby out from 3/1 joint favouritism to 7/2.

In the Al Quoz Sprint, Peniaphobia was well supported after he was drawn in post sixteen and Coral now make him clear 9/2 favourite from 5/1, pushing out Sole Power from 5/1 joint favouritism to 6/1. In the same race Caspar Netscher was also clipped in to 16/1 from 20/1.

“This year’s Dubai World Cup meeting has tremendous strength and depth across the eight race card and if today’s ante post betting activity is any guide we can expect strong betting turnover on Saturday afternoon alongside the Lincoln meeting from Doncaster and decent cards at Kempton and Uttoxeter”, said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“Brown Panther, Solow and Peniaphobia were the favourites in demand today but we are also seeing decent bets flying around on the likes of California Chrome, Secret Circle and Harp Star, and that will only increase as we get closer to race-day”, added Clare.
