Nigel Farage the bookies’ favourite to win TV debate
Nigel Farage has been installed as the 7/4 favourite with leading bookmaker Coral to win Thursday night’s televised Leaders’ Debate.
Ed Miliband is the second favourite at 11/4 with David Cameron next at 7/2. In the last few days Coral have seen plenty of bets being placed on both Nick Clegg, cut from 10/1 to 9/1, and Nicola Sturgeon, cut from 8/1 to 6/1.
“Thursday night’s televised Leaders’ Debate looks as unpredictable as the General Election itself and in the last couple of days we have seen plenty of bets on both Nick Clegg and Nicola Sturgeon at big odds to surprise the three leaders at the head of the betting,” explained Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
Coral currently make the Conservative Party the favourites at 4/9 to win the most seats in the General Election ahead of Labour who are priced at 7/4. Coral make David Cameron the 2/5 favourite to still be the Prime Minister on 1st June with Ed Miliband 7/4 to have taken over the job.
“The Election odds are driven by hard cash as well as our traders’ expert opinions so the relative performances of the party leaders in this debate could spark a rush of bets that would force these odds to change markedly by Good Friday,” added Clare.
