Liverpool looking to sink the Swans in the Premier League
Brendan Rodgers’ Reds travel to south Wales with Swansea City standing in their way and Liverpool are odds-on with Coral at 10/11 to win.
Captain Steven Gerrard is available for the match, having returned from a month out injured and is 2/1 to net anytime.
The 34-year-old has said he is confident about his fitness going into the game: “I’m feeling good,” Gerrard said at a recent press conference.
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge [at LA Galaxy] after this season,” he added. “But there will be time in the future to ask me about that.
“I want to stay respectful to Liverpool and talk about Liverpool. I’ve just got over a hamstring injury. I’m fit and available for the next game and I want to finish the season really strong.
“I want to leave the team in the top four and hopefully go all the way in the FA Cup – that’s how I want to sign off.”
Since a rare defeat to Besiktas in the Europa League, which saw them eliminated from the competition, Liverpool have continued their fine Premier League form, winning games against Liverpool (2-1) and Burnley (2-0). Stand-in skipper Jordan Henderson scored in each match and, as a result, is 11/2 in the anytime market against Garry Monk’s men.
Daniel Sturridge is also progressing well since recovering from injury, and netted at home to the Clarets. The striker is 4/1 to open the scoring. Meanwhile, Philippe Coutinho has two strikes in three Premier League games and Rodgers has got him firing this season. The Brazilian is 11/4 to find the goal anytime.
In their last five Premier League matches, Swansea have two victories, a draw and two defeats. Last time out against Tottenham, they gave a good account of themselves, narrowly losing 3-2 with Gylfi Sigurdsson getting on the scoresheet.
The Icelandic international is 10/3 to strike anytime, while Bafetimbi Gomis, who has taken over centre forward duties since Wilfried Bony moved to Manchester City, is 11/4 in the same market. He was exceptional in the Swans’ 2-1 win over Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium in late February, scoring the winner.
