Roberto Martinez’s men can take confidence into their tie with Dynamo Kiev, in the last 16 of the Europa League and are 5/4 favourites with Coral to win the match.

Captain Phil Jagielka, 12/1 anytime scorer, admits there is a good feeling in and around the team going into the game: “Confidence isn’t sky-high and the performances and results haven’t been good enough to get that way but we’ve been in so many games where we feel like we’ve been so close, that things have got to turn.

“Europe has not been a bad place for us and we know we need to go out and put a shift in but it is a challenge,” he continued.

“We’ve gone quite far in the Europa League because we’ve shown ourselves to be up for the challenge, but we’re in not such a good position in the league – we have got to be up for that challenge as well.

“We need to go out there, try our best and when we come off the pitch we can look each other in the eye and go to the next game.

“You are bound to feel that bit more tired but if we want to go and play Champions League football, play European football regularly and go far in these competitions then we need to expect this many games per season.

“I don’t want to play 20 games a season and feel great. I want to play as many as possible, get through them and do a job.”

Striker Romelu Lukaku seems to have saved his best form for the Europa League this season, netting six goals in seven appearances. The Belgian is 9/2 to break the deadlock, and also looks appealing value at 6/1 to dispatch two or more. Compatriot Kevin Mirallas, meanwhile has three in four matches in the competition and has decent odds at 2/1.

Another who has been good for the Toffees is Seamus Coleman, and a return of two goals in three is decent, as is his 7/1 anytime scorer odds.

For the visitors, Andriy Yarmolenko is their leading marksman with three in seven outings and, with his suspension now overturned, he is free to play. Lukasz Teodorczyk is also a good shout with two goals in three and has odds of 2/1 in the anytime market.
