Final French Champions League duo Monaco and PSG meet in Ligue 1

In each of the last four head-to-heads between cash-rich Ligue 1 duo Monaco and PSG, they have remarkably drawn 1-1. A share of the spoils again is priced at 11/5 with Coral, while that scoreline is an enticing 5/1.

Both teams come into this clash on the back of 3-1 wins, meanwhile, but the Red and Whites are certainly the in-form team and will still be buzzing after their shock over Arsenal in the Champions League.

Leonardo Jardim’s Monaco, therefore, are 23/10 shouts for victory on home turf, in their bid to gain ground of their rivals in the league. A victory at the St Louis II Stadium would close the gap to six points between the two teams and increase the principality state side’s chances of qualification to the Champions League next term.

However, Jardim is keen to move on from Monaco’s terrific result in midweek at the Emirates, and wants his side to fully focus on this domestic duel.

“The players are working well and are very receptive to our message and objectives,” he said. “My players are very motivated. PSG are difficult, but we will always have the same ambition to win.

“Now is not the time to think of the Champions League. The objective at the moment is PSG. Playing against PSG is almost like playing a game in the Champions League.”

The Parisians will certainly be up against it in this match, especially as they’ll be missing key players Zlatan Ibrahimovic (suspended) and Thiago Silva (injured). Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura, meanwhile, are also out of the clash.

That means Laurent Blanc will have to rely on the likes of Edinson Cavani, who recently netted against Chelsea. You can back the Uruguayan at even-money to score again here anytime.

PSG do have a chance to return to the top of the table, as both clubs around them, Marseille and Lyon, lost this week, meaning the champions now have a game in hand and are two points behind the latter. They are 5/4 favourites for victory.

Monaco also have their own absentees, in Aymen Abdennour, Ricardo Carvalho and Andrea Raggi, but can call upon former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov, who starred against the Gunners last time out. Back the Bulgarian at 2/1 in the anytime scorer market.
