Faugheen(11/10) goes in to the big race as the clear favourite but that does that does not guarantee victory, as you can see below

40% of winners have been favourite so its not nailed on by any means.

Winning last time out will do all the runners no harm as 22 out of the last 27 won last time out.

24 is the largest field to run with just 3 runners been the smallest.

Tim Molony is the most successful jockey in the history of the race, winning 4 Championship Hurdles and ten races at the festival overall.

Even more impressive 4 people have won the race as trainer and jockey those been Dessie Hughes, Fred Winter, Fred Rimmel and Gerry Wilson.
