Brilliant Bayern Munich to break down stubborn Shakhtar Donetsk

Bayern Munich, odds-on with Coral at 1/6 to win over 90 minutes, welcome Shakhtar Donetsk to the Allianz Arena, after failing to find a way past the Champions League last-16 upstarts in the first leg.

Shakhtar stood tall to deny the German juggernauts, and are 12/1 to keep a clean sheet again, although Bayern have been in swashbuckling form ever since.

An impressive 15 goals in their last four games across all competitions makes the Munich men a fearsome prospect for the Miners, especially as Pep Guardiola’s men are unbeaten at home this season.

So, punters can profit from Coral’s cracking matchday special, where customers can back Bayern at a fantastic value 4/1 for the Bundesliga club to win by four or more (note there is a maximum £20 stake for this bet).

Irrepressible Thomas Muller is back on top form and, after bagging a brace last time out, the World Cup winner is also 4/1 to score two or more.

After Muller’s recent magic, Mario Gotze could find himself on the bench, but is 9/2 to have the final say and make an impact.

Meanwhile, erstwhile wing wizards Arjen Robben (9/2 to open the scoring) and Franck Ribery are expected to support Poland poacher Robert Lewandowski (3/1 to bag a brace or better), and the terrific trio have much to prove after struggling against Shakhtar at the Donbass Arena.

Pep Guardiola’s men will certainly need to be at their best to beat Donetsk’s quartet of brilliant Brazilian dangermen, and will again be without suspended midfield shield Xabi Alonso, allowing Sebastian Schweinsteiger and David Alaba the chance to shine as a pair.

The Ukrainian outfit, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last six games across all competitions and will be a much tougher test than the Bundesliga cannon fodder Bayern have been flexing their muscles against recently.

Shakhtar shut out Bayern to earn a draw last time and are a superb 7/1 to split the spoils again over 90 minutes, or 16/1 to steal a surprise scalp.

Top Champions League scorer Luiz Adriano will be aiming to make waves at the Allianz, and is 12/1 to draw first blood or 5/1 in the anytime market.

The Brazil-born sharpshooter has netted nine in this competition already, and will be supported by exciting attacking compatriots Douglas Costa (7/1 to strike anytime), Taison and Alex Teixeira (16/1 to be on target last), while highly-rated but injured Bernard will be a big miss.
