Bookies make Moores evens to go before West Indies series

| 09.03.2015

England coach Peter Moores is evens with bookmaker Coral to not be England coach by the time the First Test vs West Indies comes around next month, while the firm offer 8-11 that he remains in charge of the national team for the start of that Test series

Coral is also betting on Eion Morgan’s future as captain of the one-day team where he is 5-6 to keep the captaincy for the First ODI v New Zealand this summer and 5-6 to step down or be stripped of the role.

“The ECB have some big decisions to make following England’s embarrassing exit in the group stage of the World Cup. Our odds suggest Moores will just hold onto his job but there is very little in the betting for him to stay or go,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“England’s exit has saved the bookmakers a big payout on the Three Lions, however, we’d have preferred them to reach the latter stages of the tournament rather than leaving the competition in the group stage,” added Hill.
