Bookies bashed despite dodging another Cheltenham bullet

| 11.03.2015

Bookmaker Coral was once again spared a record payout on day two of the Cheltenham Festival thanks to Dodging Bullets beating Sire De Grugy and Sprinter Sacre in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. However, it was still a day of carnage for the bookmakers when the well-backed Windsor Park, Don Poli, and Aux Ptits Soins won their respective races earlier in the day.

“We are still suffering at the hands of the punters on the second day of the festival, despite dodging a bullet in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. We’re extremely grateful that Sire De Grugy and Sprinter Sacre didn’t win, but today’s losses were still colossal. Tomorrow is a new day and we can only pray that a few favourites get turned over to give us some respite,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
