Premier League top four hopefuls Arsenal, are close to signing Paulo Dybala from Palermo, Coral News understands, with club officials set to meet the player’s representatives imminently.

The Gunners, odds-on with Coral at 1/10 for a top four finish, have been tracking Dybala for months, and look set to secure his services in the summer for a fee believed to be £28.9m, Palermo’s asking price.

Argentinian Dybala has scored 12 goals in 27 appearances this term in Serie A, and his arrival at the Emirates would add even more firepower to the Gunners’ arsenal. With Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck already firmly installed in the club’s attack, Dybala would give Arsene Wenger an extra dimension.

However, what fans really want at the Emirates is a defensive midfielder and possibly a centre back and, as long as at least the former comes in, they would likely view Dybala as a bonus. He is regarded as one of the most exciting forwards around, and at just 21 years of age has an extremely bright future.

Also, he is set to select Arsenal over Serie A title holders Juventus, which is a mark of how the club is starting to be regarded by top players, as demonstrated by Sanchez last summer. The Chilean has been outstanding, continuing Arsenal’s trend of being a club where South American players can flourish. Gilberto Silva and Edu are two prime examples who have excelled while at the club, and it will be interesting to see how Dybala links up with Sanchez.

Wenger craves another Premier League title plus a Champions League win, having endured a period of frugal spending, saving and selling top players at high prices. With their new stadium paid off quicker than expected, and thanks to consistently qualifying for the Champions League every season, their surplus cash reserves as a business are astronomical, and are well positioned to push on.

Retaining the FA Cup this season, will certainly start to establish Arsenal as a club who can once again win silverware consistently again, and they are odds-on 4/5 favourites to do so this term.

In acquiring Dybala, not only are they strengthening their chances of doing this, but also planning for the future. If he is an immediate success and lives up to his potential of stepping into Lionel Messi’s shoes for his country, then Arsenal’s commercial possibilities will be endless. Their future looks bright.
