Aston Villa v Stoke – Draw
Villa are in horrific form in the league, having gone 10 games without a win, but after Tim Sherwood’s appointment back them to get something out of this fixture.

Chelsea v Burnley – Home win
Table-toppers Chelsea face relegation battlers Burnley at Stamford Bridge, knowing that only a win will do. The Blues are on a run of four victories in their last five in the top flight, while the Clarets have triumphed just once in their previous nine.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal – Away win
Alan Pardew has certainly turned things around at Palace, with his side getting three league wins from their last five, but have not beaten London rivals Arsenal in their previous 10 meetings. The Gunners are back in form, and should edge this.

Hull v QPR – Draw
These struggling teams are above the relegation zone, but only just, and they will be going all out to claim three crucial points. They have drawn in three of their last four meetings, though, so back that result again.

Sunderland v West Brom – Draw
Both teams drew this season in the reverse Premier League fixture at The Hawthorns, and they are next to each other in the table. Back a share of the spoils once more.

Swansea v Man Utd – Draw
The Swans shocked United at Old Trafford in their opening game of the Premier League season, and have won two of their last three meetings in all competitions against them. Man Utd have seemed shaky in recent weeks too, so back a draw here.

Brentford v Bournemouth – Draw
Mark Warburton’s Bees have slipped just outside the play-off places after two straight losses in the Championship, but high-fliers Bournemouth are without a win in their previous three in all competitions. A share of the spoils could be on the cards.

Ipswich v Reading – Home win
Mick McCarthy’s men are still well in contention of gaining automatic promotion, and should be able to see off mid-table side Reading, who they beat in the fixture last term too.

Watford v Norwich – Draw
Norwich are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions against the Hornets, but the duo, who are both in the play-offs, have won their previous three apiece in the league. Back a draw.

Man City v Newcastle – Home win
In their last four meetings in all competition, the away side has always won 2-0 and, with City gaining just one win in their last five top-flight fixtures, the Magpies have the ability to cause another shock. However, the Premier League champions will have Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony available, and should grind out a victory.

Tottenham v West Ham – Draw
These London rivals both have European ambitions, but it is Spurs’ participation in the Europa League that may make them jaded for this derby. Big Sam Allardyce’s Hammers come into this off the back of a humbling FA Cup exit, but can steady the ship by sharing the spoils.

Everton v Leicester – Draw
Eight of the last 10 head-to-heads have finished level and, with Everton coming into this one off the back of a tough trip to Switzerland, a share of the spoils looks highly likely again.

Southampton v Liverpool – Home win
Brendan Rodgers has Europa League commitments too, and then must take his Reds to the south coast where Ronald Koeman’s fresh Saints await them. Three points for a fantastic Southampton side look on the cards, then, even though Liverpool raided St Mary’s for many of their star players last term.

Fiorentina v Torino – Draw
As four of the last five meetings have been draws, and Vincenzo Montella’s men travel to White Hart Lane beforehand, a point apiece would be the prudent bet.

Cagliari v Inter Milan – Away win
Roberto Mancini’s men are at Celtic in Europa League action but, in spite of a poor recent head-to-head record, they are facing Gianfranco Zola’s relegation-threatened side, who boast one of the worse defensive records in Serie A. The Sardinians should be a sinking ship, so back Inter for victory.
