Coral’s combined current Tottenham and Arsenal starting XI

Published:

Ahead of this weekend’s north London derby between Tottenham (9/4 for victory) and Arsenal (6/5) at White Hart Lane, Coral carve out a combined team of current players available for the fixture.

Do you agree with our following picks?

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)
Spurs’ vice-captain has taken less of the plaudits this term, as Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen are impressing at the other end of the pitch, but the France number one’s contribution has been vital. Lloris has six clean sheets to his name this season in the Premier League, and is 4/1 to get another.

Right Back: Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)
The young Spaniard has highly impressed since taking over right back duties this season. Bellerin, 19, scored a stunner at the end of the Gunners’ 5-0 thrashing over Aston Villa last time out.

Centre back: Per Mertesacker (Arsenal)
Giant German defender and World Cup winner Mertesacker will be fired up for this fixture, and is a rock at the back on his day.

Centre back: Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)
Another solid performer in defence, left-footed Belgium international Vertonghen will be hoping to provide as much cover cover for Lloris, alongside Federico Fazio.

Left back: Danny Rose (Tottenham)
Full back convert Rose has netted in this fixture before, guiding his team to a 2-1 win with an absolute screamer on his Tottenham league debut, that earned him the Goal of the Season award. He is 12/1 to strike again anytime.

Defence midfield: Francis Coquelin (Arsenal)
The Frenchman has been a top performer for Arsenal since breaking into the first team this season, having played the full 90 minutes in their last five league games. Arsene Wenger reportedly didn’t sign another star in Coquelin’s position due his promise.

Right wing: Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
The pacy winger made his first start in the Premier League last time out against Villa, where he got a goal, since suffering a serious knee injury against Spurs in the FA Cup last term. He could start again, especially with Alexis Sanchez being ruled out of the game.

Attacking midfield: Christian Eriksen (Tottenham)
Danish star Eriksen has a knack for getting crucial goals this season for Spurs, firing in 11 in all competitions so far, and the Arsenal defence will need to be wary of him.

Left wing: Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
Another Spaniard to feature in this side, playmaker Cazorla will be the key to any Gunners attack in this fixture.

Striker: Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Spurs academy product Kane simply can’t stop scoring, having found the net an incredible 20 times in his breakthrough season. The 21-year-old has eight in his last eight Premier League matches, and is a 7/4 chance to strike anytime.

Striker: Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)
France centre forward Giroud was out injured for much of the first half of the campaign, but his return has seen him score five in his last six.
