Burnley v QPR – Away win
The hosts are on a respectable run in the Premier League, having drawn the last two matches against Manchester City and Newcastle United, as well as taking Tottenham to a replay in the FA Cup. QPR, meanwhile, have also done the same in the league, though Harry Redknapp rested the majority of his squad for the cup defeat to Sheffield United last time out, which could prove the difference. Charlie Austin scored in the reverse fixture against his former club, before being sent off. The Hoops will be hopeful of a hard fought three points.

Chelsea v Newcastle – Home win
Jose Mourinho will tell his players that nothing less than a win will do against the Magpies, who put an end to Chelsea’s unbeaten run earlier this season. Since then the Blues recorded their second Premier League defeat, losing 5-3 to Spurs last time out and are now level with Man City. Newcastle have four points from their last three league games and are still to appoint a permanent manager. Expect the hosts to run riot.

Everton v Man City – Home win
The Toffees have the potential to cause an upset here. Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been less than impressive in their last few games, struggling to beat Sheffield Wednesday last time out in the FA Cup. Their strikers are still injured and Everton showed resilience against West Ham to earn a draw, with Romelu Lukaku scoring in the last minute. A win here for the home side could be just what they need to rejuvenate their season.

Leicester v Aston Villa – Home win
Nigel Pearson’s side have put a run together recently, taking four points from their last two Premier League games, and also beat Newcastle at home in the FA Cup previously. Villa were poor against Blackpool, and if Leicester can keep Christian Benteke quiet and create chances for the rejuvenated Leonardo Ulloa, they have a chance.

Swansea v West Ham – Away win
Following a well earned draw away at Goodison Park, the Hammers can take advantage of Swansea’s latest misfortune of the possibility of losing star striker Wilfried Bony. Although the visitors have Alex Song and Cheikhou Kouyate on international duty and Diafra Sakho on the injured list, Andy Carroll can wreak havoc at the Liberty Stadium.

West Brom v Hull – Draw
The Baggies are without a victory in their last four in the Premier League, while the Tigers have won two of their last three. But survival expert Tony Pulis takes charge of his first top-flight match as West Brom boss and should be able to get something here.

Bournemouth v Norwich – Home win
Table-toppers Bournemouth host Norwich, who are expected to appoint Alex Neil as manager before the weekend, and should have enough to see them off, despite not beating them in their last four meetings.

Cardiff v Fulham – Draw
Neither side are in good form and, with the duo drawing earlier this season already in the reverse fixture back that outcome in Wales too.

Crystal Palace v Tottenham – Draw
Palace are without a win in their last eight Premier League games, but just smashed Dover 4-0 in the FA Cup in new boss Alan Pardew’s first game. Spurs are on a great run currently, largely thanks to Harry Kane, but these two sides drew at White Hart Lane this season.

Arsenal v Stoke – Home win
The Gunners have won their last 12 home games against Stoke, despite the Potters being victorious in their last two meetings, and will be looking to bounce back after losing to Southampton last time out.

Blackburn v Wolves – Draw
Although Bakary Sako has departed for the Africa Cup of Nations with Mali, compatriot Nouha Dicko remains with Wolves. As they and Rovers are next to one another in the table, back a share of the spoils.

Man Utd v Southampton – Draw
The Saints’ form has picked up again, and so has United’s. Dutch rivals Louis van Gaal and Ronald Koeman look set to see honours finish even, then.

Napoli v Juventus – Draw
Serie A champions Juve recently lost the Italian Super Cup to Rafa Benitez’s boys on penalties, so a draw in 90 minutes looks on the cards once more.

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid – Draw
Barca are a club in crisis with speculation surrounding the futures of both manager Luis Enrique and star striker Lionel Messi, so La Liga champions Atletico can capitalise on that by pinching a point after five draws from six meetings last term.

Coventry v Swindon – Away win
As Town are top of League One and have beaten the Sky Blues 2-1 away in the last two seasons, they look should extend their advantage.
