Barnsley v Middlesbrough – Away win
As the Tykes struggle for consistency in League One mid-table mediocrity, and Boro are in the hunt for Premier League promotion, back Aitor Karanka’s team, especially as loan star Patrick Bamford has had his deal extended until the of the season.

Blyth Spartans v Birmingham – Away win
Gary Rowett’s Blues won convincingly at Nottingham Forest last time out, so this trip to the northeast should hold no difficulty for them against non-league opposition. Back Birmingham to beat Blyth.

Bolton v Wigan – Home win
Wanderers are unbeaten at home under Neil Lennon and, as he has already steered them to a 3-1 win over their Lancashire rivals, a repeat result should be on the cards in this all Championship clash.

Fulham v Wolves – Away win
Hosts Fulham have lost two of their last three home matches, and Wolves have turned the corner, picking up 10 points from a possible 12 in the last four. As Kenny Jackett has already steered Wanderers to a win at Craven Cottage this term, back the visitors to do so again.

Leicester v Newcastle – Draw
Nigel Pearson’s Foxes showed character to come from behind to draw at Liverpool last time out, while a leaky Magpies defence saw them held by Burnley. Newcastle are unlikely to have a new permanent manager in place, so a share of the spoils looks likely.

Preston v Norwich – Draw
Simon Grayson’s side are undefeated in nine matches across all competitions in the run-up to this match, though sit one division below the Canaries. Before their 2-1 defeat to Reading last time out, the visitors were unbeaten in four fixtures. It will be an interesting match, which could go to a replay.

Rochdale v Nottingham Forest – Home win
The last time the hosts won, was early in December, when they recorded a 4-1 away victory over Colchester. Stuart Pearce’s side meanwhile, are in a slump themselves, and have conceded three in each of their last two matches. Both clubs could use this game as a welcome distraction, though Forest are there for the taking.

Dover v Crystal Palace – Away win
Conference side Dover warmed up for this fixture with a 2-0 victory over Welling on New Year’s Day and, although they haven’t lost since early October in all competitions, they are still mid-table. Palace are in the Premier League relegation zone, though will be boosted by the appointment of new boss Alan Pardew, who returns to the club he spent four years as player at.

Sunderland v Leeds – Away win
Championship strugglers Leeds may welcome this distraction against Premier League opposition, and a good result here could be a catalyst to push on in their own division. Sunderland gave everything against Manchester City on New Year’s Day, eventually losing 3-2 and, with their survival in doubt, this may be a distraction they don’t need.

Manchester City v Sheffield Wednesday – Home win
Should be fairly academic. Manuel Pellegrini’s men are undefeated in all competitions since the beginning of November when they lost in the Champions League. City should have more than enough strength in their side to see their way past the Owls who sit just in the top half of the Championship.

Southampton v Ipswich – Home win
These sides last met in the FA Cup in January 2010, when the Saints come out on top in a 2-1 victory at St Mary’s. Ronald Koeman’s men have not been beaten by the Blues since 2007, and the Premier League high-flyers should have too much fire power for their opponents again this time out.

Yeovil v Manchester United – Away win
Yeovil have come up against Manchester United twice in the FA Cup before, losing both ties heavily at Old Trafford, first getting downed 3-0 in 1938, before being hammered 8-0 in 1949. At Huish Park, the Red Devils should again be dominant, with Louis van Gaal’s rejuvenated outfit third in England’s top-flight, and the Glovers losing four of their last six League One games.

Arsenal v Hull – Home win
It’s a repeat of last season’s FA Cup final, where Arsenal overcame an early 2-0 deficit to claim their first trophy for nine years, with a 3-2 triumph over the Tigers. Despite Steve Bruce’s men coming off the back of a league win over Everton, Arsene Wenger’s side should have little trouble, having dominated this fixture, winning seven of the last eight meetings.

Burnley v Tottenham – Away win
Spurs defeated Burnley earlier in the Premier League season, with Harry Kane netting early on their way to a 2-1 victory at White Hart Lane. The English striker is in the form of his career, and is expected to continue that distinction in front of goal against a Clarets outfit who are without a win in four games.

Wimbledon v Liverpool – Away win
In the 1988 FA Cup final between Liverpool and the original Wimbledon, the Dons produced one of the great shocks in the competition’s history, beating the Reds in an extraordinary game. Some 27 years later, the sides clash again, where Brendan Rodgers’ men will be huge favourites, although the home side have won four of their last five games, but will the gulf in class to big to bridge.
