QB Russell Wilson leads Seahawks prop betting for Super Bowl XLIX

| 31.01.2015

Seattle Seahawks will be looking to become the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since New England accomplished the feat a decade ago, when they meet the Patriots on Super Sunday in a match up pegged as a PICK in NFL online betting at Coral.

The Seahawks will once again be led by quarterback Russell Wilson, who threw a pair of TDs and compiled 206 passing yards and 26 rushing yards in Seattle’s 43-8 win over Denver Broncos in last season’s Super Bowl.

Not surprisingly, the third-year pivot out of the University of Wisconsin is the focus of a number of Super Bowl props bets now available at Coral.

Wilson (9/4) trails only Patriots counterpart Tom Brady (6/4) in the Super Bowl XLIX MVP betting. He is also among the favourites to score on Sunday, with odds of 7/4 to put points on the board at anytime during the game, and a 14/1 bet to register first or last on Super Sunday.

After tallying six rushing TDs during the 2014 NFL regular season, Wilson is also a strong 7/1 bet to record the first Seattle TD on, trailing only running back Marshawn Lynch and WR Doug Baldwin, who have odds of 5/2 and 6/1 respectively.

Wilson tossed a total of 20 TD passes during the regular season against just seven interceptions, and is an even-money bet to complete OVER 1.5 TD passes in Super Bowl XLIX, while sporting odds of 4/5 of throwing OVER 0.5.

If Seattle are to repeat as Super Bowl champs, they will need Lynch to turn in another dominant performance like he did in the Seahawks’ 28-22 overtime win over Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

Beast Mode ran for 157 yards and one TD while adding 26 receiving yards in Seattle’s win, marking the 10th time this season that he has amassed over 100 total yards in a game. Overall, Lynch tallied an impressive 1306 ground yards and 13 rushing TDs during the regular season, along with 367 receiving yards and four TDs.

In addition to being a 5/1 bet to take home Super Bowl MVP honours, Lynch is also strongly odds-on at 1/2 to score anytime on Super Sunday, and a 6/1 favourite to put points on the board first or last.

The betting line on Lynch’s total rushing yards on Sunday is set at 87.5, with moneyline odds of 20/23 attached to both the OVER and UNDER. In addition, the odds of Lynch scoring a TD and the Seahawks repeating as champions are set at an attractive 5/2.

On the Seahawks defense, all eyes will turn to cornerback Richard Sherman, who faces the unenviable task of defending against Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Brandon LaFell.

Sherman, who tallied 45 tackles and four interceptions in the regular season along with two picks so far in the post-season, hits the gridiron on Sunday as a 33/1 longshot to be named Super Bowl MVP, but is an attractive 9/4 bet to pick off at least one Patriots pass.

The oddsmakers at Coral have also set the betting line on the total number of tackles and assists by Sherman at 3.5, with both the OVER and UNDER sporting moneyline odds of 20/23.
