Premier League big boys in action, including Chelsea and Man City

The Premier League is now in its second week of the New Year, and Coral writers preview three of the Saturday 3pm kick-offs. Joint table-toppers Chelsea and Manchester City face tough encounters with Newcastle United at home and Everton away respectively, while Swansea City and West Ham United duel in Wales.

Chelsea v Newcastle
The Magpies have been the scourge of Chelsea in recent seasons, being undefeated against them in seven of their last 10 games in all competitions, including their 2-1 triumph at St James Park this term. Manager-less Newcastle, therefore, are terrific 14/1 chances for victory again, or 6/1 to take a point.

However, the Blues have won their previous two games at Stamford Bridge against the Toon, both to nil, and are heavy odds-on 1/5 favourites to beat them once more, and 8/11 to do so without conceding.

Newcastle will be without the man who downed Chelsea last time, Papiss Cisse, who is away with Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations, so will need to rely on Ayoze Perez. The Spaniard is a terrific 5/1 chance to net anytime.

For the Blues, meanwhile, back Eden Hazard, who hit a hat-tick in this fixture last term, at evens to net again anytime, or 20/1 for another treble.

Everton v Man City
Champions City have won their last three encounters with current strugglers Everton, who have lost their last four in the Premier League. It will be hard to look past the visitors again, which is why they are 5/6 odds-on favourites for victory.

The Toffees last beat the Citizens at Goodison Park in 2013, and are 10/3 chances to finally get back to winning form. A draw is priced at 11/4.

Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko both scored in the 3-2 thriller here last season, and are respective 10/11 and 6/5 shouts to net anytime again. Ross Barkley (5/1) and Romelu Lukaku (2/1) were on target for the hosts, meanwhile.

Swansea v West Ham
These two teams have punched above their weight this season, with both occupying top 10 spots. However, they have dropped points in their last couple of games, so back a draw at 23/10.

West Ham, though, are undefeated in their last four games against Swansea, winning three, and are tempting 12/5 chances for victory. The hosts are the 5/4 favourites.

Andy Carroll scored twice against the Welsh outfit at Upton Park this term, and is 15/8 to score again anytime.
