With news filtering through to British press that Borussia Dortmund’s German attacker Marco Reus has reportedly agreed a deal with Real Madrid, Coral compile five potential players who the Spanish giants could let go in the summer, following the additions of youngsters Martin Odergaard and Lucas Silva this month.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are odds-on with Coral at 4/9 to win La Liga this season, though always seem to splash out every summer, regardless of whether they win silverware. Have a look and see which five names made our list of potential casualties.

Isco
Blessed with talent, though if Reus joins, surely his days will be numbered. Isco was one of Los Blancos’ best players at Anfield against Liverpool in the Champions League group stage game and, with an eye for a pass, terrific vision plus intelligent movement, there are a number of teams who will queue up for his signature. He could certainly be a superb long term replacement for Santi Cazorla at Arsenal, who already have a good relationship with Real.

Asier Illaramendi
He hasn’t quite done when it matters for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, though he is a fantastic prospect. Still only 24 years old, he can quite easily be the next Xabi Alonso. Illarramendi’s issue is Real have a number of players in his position and have been linked with Brazilian youngster Lucas Silva. Arsenal are in need of a holding midfielder, though Brendan Rodgers may find a place for him at Liverpool.

Fabio Coentrao
Manchester United were close to signing the Portuguese left back on the last day of the 2013 summer transfer window, though were too late with the paperwork. Marcelo has made the berth his own, however Coentrao has been known to play in defensive midfield as well. A move to Italy could be attractive to the Portugal international and he could suit a club like Juventus.

Alvaro Arbeloa
The former Liverpool right back has been a good servant for Real, though, with youngster Dani Carvajal preferred in this position by Ancelotti, he may feel the time is right to move on. Any Spanish club outside of the big two would snap him up, and Real Sociedad manager David Moyes knows him well from the numerous times when his Everton side played Liverpool.

Raphael Varane
Real’s 21-year-old centre back looks unlikely to displace Portuguese Pepe in the heart of defence and there are reports that former boss Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing him to Chelsea, though Manchester United could also make a move.
