Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard to announce he’s leaving
Published:Coral can break you the news that long-serving Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will release a statement saying that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
The news comes after the Reds, 13/2 with Coral for a top four finish, were held to a 2-2 draw to rock bottom Premier League outfit Leicester City, in which the 34-year-old scored both goals to spare his side’s blushes not for the first time this season.

Regarding the player’s options, there are a number available to him. Those within his inner-circle believe he will move to an MLS club, with LA Galaxy the likeliest destination, following in the footsteps of ex-England teammate David Beckham.
However, Manchester City franchise New York City could also be an alternative, with the club having signed Frank Lampard when he left Chelsea at the end of last season. Resuming a former Three Lions midfield partnership stateside, plus the lure of the Big Apple could be too great for Gerrard to resist.
The city’s other club, New York Red Bull may yet throw their name into the hat, after their icon Thierry Henry announced his retirement from football recently.
Wherever Gerrard goes, there is no doubt that he can still do a job at the highest level. He remains the only player to score in the FA Cup, Champions League, League Cup and UEFA Cup finals, and despite this latest news, fans will be quick to give him five words of comfort: “You Will Never Walk Alone”.
