In-form Monaco should see off fellow Europe chasers Bordeaux

Bordeaux battered Monaco earlier in the season in their reverse Ligue 1 fixture 4-1, so are tempting 7/2 chances with Coral for victory again, and 150/1 for that scoreline.

On top of that, the principality side have not beaten the Girondins in their last eight home games, drawing their last three. A share of the spoils at the Stade Louis II ground once more is priced at 5/2.

But it is Monaco that are one of the in-form teams in the league, winning each of their last four games, while Bordeaux have lost their previous two, which is why the former are odds-on favourites at 4/5.

The two teams are currently next to each other in the league and both are still within reach of a Champions League place, with the Red and Whites six points off third and the Girodins seven behind.

Last year’s runners-up Monaco have had no prolific scorers this term so far, but will be hoping their two leading marksmen, former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov (with six) and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco (five), will be on target. They are 6/5 and 7/4 respectively in the anytime market.

Bordeaux, meanwhile, have three players that have five or more goals in the league this season. Unfortunately for the visitors, though, two of them, Cheick Diabate and Wahbi Khazri are away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, young Uruguay international Diego Rolan, who bagged a brace against Monaco earlier this season, is available and is a 9/4 chance to score anytime. He is also 12/1 to net two or more once again.

Others for the travelling team to look out for are former Red and Whites long-serving midfielder Jaroslav Plasil and Emiliano Sala, who netted a penalty in that 4-1 win. They are respective 13/2 and 9/4 chances to score here.

Besides Berbatov, there will also be a few former English Premier League players on show for both sides, including Ricardo Carvalho (ex-Chelsea), Maarten Stekelenburg (Fulham) and Lacina Traore (Everton) for Monaco. Liverpool loanee Tiago Ilori and Julien Faubert (West Ham United), meanwhile, could feature for Bordeaux.
