Crystal Palace set to swap Fraizer Campbell for QPR’s Jordon Mutch

Crystal Palace, 9/2 with Coral to be relegated, are preparing a swap deal with London rivals QPR that will see forward Fraizer Campbell move to Loftus Road in exchange for attacking midfielder Jordon Mutch, according to today’s tabloids.
Capped once by England at senior level in 2012, 27-year-old Campbell has fallen out of favour at Selhurst Park since Alan Pardew succeeded Neil Warnock as Eagles boss and landed Arsenal attacker Yaya Sanogo on loan, who scored on his debut in the club’s FA Cup win over Southampton.
Mutch, meanwhile, has been in and out under Hoops manager Harry Redknapp with injuries and changes of formation making it difficult for the former Birmingham City midfielder to make an impact.
Campbell and Mutch, 23, were teammates at Cardiff City the season before last when they won promotion to the Premier League together.
Redknapp is seeking another striking option to ease the scoring burden on leading marksman Charlie Austin, who has 13 of their 23 to-flight goals this term. Campbell, who also counts Manchester United, Hull City, Tottenham and Sunderland among his old clubs, could help.
Pardew appears keen to add more midfield dynamism to his options at Palace, with Mutch, who scored seven times in the Premier League for Cardiff, rated at £5m.
In other Eagles news, they are also reportedly close to signing winger Wilfried Zaha on a permanent basis from Manchester United.
The Ivory Coast-born England international, 22, Zaha failed to break into the Old Trafford first-team after coming through Palace’s academy, and was loaned back to them for the season after spending the second half of last term at Cardiff with Campbell and Mutch.
It is also understood that Pardew hopes to wrap up the capture of Senegal left back Papa Souare from Lille before the winter window slams shut on Monday, February 2nd.
QPR are odds-on at 8/11 for the drop as they sit second bottom of the Premier League, yet are even-money to stay up.
