Former winner Monbeg Dude among Coral Welsh National favourites

| 09.12.2014

Monbeg Dude, winner of the rearranged 2012 Coral Welsh Grand National, is among the sponsor’s 8-1 co-favourites for this year’s renewal, following the latest entry stage for the Chepstow showpiece. Last season’s National Hunt Chase one-two, Midnight Prayer and Shotgun Paddy, are the other market leaders, ahead of last year’s runner-up, Hawkes Point, at 10-1, and the horse that beat him twelve months ago, Mountainous, 12-1 for a repeat success.

“With two former winners and a Cheltenham Festival one-two among the market leaders, this year’s Coral Welsh Grand National is shaping up to be a top class renewal, and for the first time, whichever horse adds their name to the roll of honour later this month will have the chance to win a further £100,000 should they go on to triumph in the Coral Scottish Grand National next April,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
