Tottenham travel to Foxes lair whilst Everton entertain Potters

In a stuffed festive fixture list, these two duels should provide stern tests for European spot hopefuls Everton and Tottenham.

Roberto Martinez’s men have stumbled since suffering defeat at White Hart Lane, and now face a Stoke City side that managed to ruffle league leaders Chelsea’s feathers.

Meanwhile, Spurs have set off on a fine run of form and will make a Boxing Day journey to lacklustre Leicester City.

Everton v Stoke
The Toffees, odds-on 17/20 favourites with Coral to take all three points, have a terrific head-to-head record against Stoke, with 60 victories across all competitions to their visitors’ 32.

Last time Martinez’s Merseyside men hosted the Potters at Goodison Park, they smashed the Midlands side 4-0, and are 33/1 to repeat that result.

Romelu Lukaku was on target in that drubbing, making the Belgium frontman 9/2 to fire home first and make amends for netting an own goal last time out.

Everton remain undefeated in their past five clashes with Stoke, but have been inconsistent this campaign, winning just one of their last six games.

A draw, available at a fantastic 13/5, is great value, as Mark Hughes’ team seem to have the bit between their teeth.

A fantastically physical performance against Chelsea reminded that Stoke may have introduced more flair into their game, but they still know how to tussle and toil with their opponents.

The Potters have also enjoyed recent victories against Arsenal and Tottenham, and are 7/2 to claim another surprise scalp, with striker Peter Crouch (9/4 to score anytime) racking up two goals in his last three outings.

Martinez may favour aesthetically pleasing, possession-based football, but the soft approach could see them stutter again here. The Toffees may have superior firepower, but they will need to toughen up to sink Stoke.

Leicester v Tottenham
Spurs, 11/10 favourites for victory, may have a superior historical record over hosts Leicester, but it will be the present that concerns the Foxes.

Under-fire Nigel Pearson’s side, outsiders at 11/4 to triumph, are without a win in 12 games; a miserable run which stretches all the way back to September.

As the misfiring Foxes have scored just one goal in their past three clashes, conceding five, travelling team Tottenham are 29/10 to win to nil and 10/3 to net three or more.

‘Hurricane’ Harry Kane continues to sweep past everything in his path, and is 5/1 to open the floodgates again after drawing first blood against Burnley.

Erik Lamela was the match-winner for Mauricio Pochettino last time out, and is 9/4 to follow up that sensational strike by grabbing a goal anytime.

Midfield schemer Christian Eriksen, who has been a regular game-changer for Spurs this season, is also available in the anytime market at 6/4.
