Man City aiming for seventh heaven against Crystal Palace

| 20.12.2014

Manchester City are aiming for their seventh straight victory over south London side Crystal Palace, and are odds-on at 3/10 with Coral to make that happen.

Edin Dzeko scored home and away last term, though faces a fight to be fit for the match after sustaining an injury in the warm-up against Leicester City. Goalscoring duty could fall upon Frank Lampard who seems to be enjoying his football at the minute, having hit the winner against the Foxes, and is 9/2 to net the opener.

Spanish striker Jose Pozo, who featured in the win over the East Midlands outfit, could also take his opportunity, should the occasion present itself and is also 9/2 to break the deadlock, while attacker Samir Nasri, who has discovered some form recently, is a 9/4 anytime scorer chance.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping for three points after declaring that he is frustrated at City’s congested fixture list over the Christmas period.

“We know at the end of December we have a difficult period with all the games and we a break is a discussion we are not having in this moment,” the Chilean said.

“I don’t know if we need a break because I understand Boxing Day is a very important date for football,” continued Pellegrini.

“But Boxing Day is December 26th, I don’t know why we have to play December 28th and January 1st. Maybe we can play on Boxing Day on December 26th and one game more before the end of the year, but the picture is like that for every team so all are the same, it’s not a matter that I can decide.”

Palace’s James McArthur, meanwhile, has issued a warning at Pellegrini’s side after scoring his first goal in his team’s 1-1 draw with Stoke last time out.

“Whenever you play a team and win it’s a great experience, especially against a top side, so I’ve enjoyed it in the past and hopefully I’ll enjoy it on Saturday,” said McArthur, who is 9/1 in the anytime scorer market.

“But City have been good under Pellegrini. Chelsea have been the runaway side so far but they’ve got themselves back into the title race and they’ll be dangerous.

“Yaya Toure has scored a couple of important goals recently, he’s an unbelievable player and you want to play the top players.

“I feel I’ve settled in very well here, the boys have been excellent and the manager and fans have made it so easy for me.

Top scorer with five goals, Mile Jedinak could also be on target, especially if City win a penalty. He is 6/1 to net anytime.
