Jubilant Juventus visit old foes Fiorentina with vengeance in mind
Juventus, 11/10 for an away win with Coral, return to the scene of one of their two Serie A defeats from last term, as they travel to Florence to face an in-form Fiorentina.
The Old Lady came undone in the City of Lillies, when Giuseppe Rossi staged a dramatic 4-2 comeback, hitting an impressive hat-trick within 15 minutes. Rossi will not be available to terrorise the Juve backline this time out, however, as the Italy striker is still sidelined.
Vincenzo Montella’s men will be able to field former Bayern Munich frontman Mario Gomez, though, who has finally found form again after returning from injury. The German striker is 11/2 to fire home first after netting in Viola’s fantastic 4-0 victory against Cagliari.
Colombia star Juan Cuadrado’s pace and penetration will be Montella’s main attacking outlet, however, and after grabbing two goals in his last three outings is 14/5 in the anytime market to prove a menace again.
On-loan Manchester City man Micah Richards is also available at 12/1 to be on target anytime, if he gets a chance to impress on his Italian adventure.
Fiorentina have been in fine form of late, enjoying somewhat of a renaissance, and look to finally be getting their Serie A season on track, making them 5/2 to secure their fourth scalp in a row over bitter rivals Juve.
Defeat against their Florentine foes would take the biscuit for the Old Lady, who completed a perfect November of six wins on the bounce, grabbing 14 goals.
The Juve juggernaut are 9/2 to score three or more, with top Serie A scorer Carlos Tevez 5/2 to draw first blood after netting nine in 12.
Argentina international Tevez was on target at the Artemio Franchi last term, as was the powerful Paul Pogba, who is 6/1 to close the scoring after grabbing three league goals so far this season.
Juventus boast plenty of threat from midfield, with inspirational Arturo Vidal (23/10 to net anytime) and effervescent Andrea Pirlo (14/5) both finding their scoring boots in the Turin derby last time out.
Massimiliano Allegri will be without right back Stephan Lichtsteiner, leaving the path to the starting XI open to Roberto Pereyra or Simone Padoin. More concerning for the league leaders will the absence of Gianluigi Buffon, who may not be fit enough to face Viola.
The Old Lady will no doubt face a tough test in Florence but, as they continue to steam-roll to a fourth consecutive Scudetto, Fiorentina will have to be firing on all cylinders to halt their march.
