Five clubs for Wilfried Bony after chairman refuses to rule out move

Wilfried Bony has been the subject of much attention from a number of Premier League clubs following his fine form so far this season at Swansea.

He has eight goals to his name, and seems to be enjoying life in the Premier League, following his switch from Vitesse, though chairman Huw Jenkins has refused to rule out selling his striker.

“As things stand we have not had any contact from anyone with respect to Wilfried,” Jenkins said. “It’s just speculation linked to a player who is the top scorer in 2014 in the Premier League – which is perfectly natural.”

“First and foremost I will consider everything that arises at the time but as of yet we haven’t got anything to consider. Players move around – that’s a fact of life,” continued Jenkins.

“The one thing I’ve learned over time is never say never in football but officially at the moment we haven’t had any contact from Manchester City or anyone else about Wilfried.”

As as a result, Coral have come up with five potential destinations for the Ivory Coast man, should Swansea be tempted into selling him, for what would be around the £25m mark.

Manchester City
AS Jenkins eluded to, Manuel Pellegrini’s side haven’t made a move for the striker, but seem interested and are relatively light in front of goal, particularly with Sergio Aguero injured. They are 11/4 to win the Premier League, though may need someone of Bony’s quality to challenge for the title.

Manchester United
Always on the lookout for new players recently, Louis van Gaal may feel the Swans striker fits the bill. Although they currently have Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao, it is undecided regarding the Colombian’s future, while there have been concerns over the Dutchman’s long term future.

Chelsea
Didier Drogba is unlikely to continue playing past this season, which would leave only Diego Costa and Loic Remy as their only striker options. Should Jose Mourinho feel the need to enter the market, he could do worse than snapping Bony.

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers’ Reds are in dire need of a striker, with Daniel Sturridge injured and Luis Suarez having been sold to Barcelona. Although they spent in excess of £100m in the summer, they would have to considerably splash out again to land Swansea’s top marksman.

Tottenham Hotspur
They are in the market for a striker, and Bony would certainly give them options. He would make a lethal partnership with Harry Kane, if Spurs decide to revert to two up front. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have shown that they can possibly mount a top four challenge (5/1 top four finish), and with Bony in the ranks this would be increasingly likely.
