Chelsea in PSG clash, Man City meet Barca in Champions League last 16

| 15.12.2014

Chelsea have drawn PSG and Manchester City will meet Barcelona again in the Champions League last 16.

Both Premier League sides played their respective opposition during last term’s knockout phase of Europe’s elite club competition. While Jose Mourinho’s men sneaked past the Parisians in the quarter-finals, Manuel Pellegrini and City fell to 6/1 trophy shots Barca at this precise stage.

Arsenal (22/1 chances with Coral), meanwhile, will face manager Arsene Wenger’s former club Monaco. He spent seven years in charge of the Principality outfit between 1987 and 1994, during which time he won Ligue 1 (in his first season) and the Coupe de France (1991).

Lionel Messi and Dani Alves both scored home and away against City last term, to inflict a heavy 4-1 aggregate defeat on the Premier League champions, who are 14/1 to win the Champions League.

Chelsea (now 7/1 shots) came from 3-1 down in the quarters, to edge past PSG on away goals with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge. The Blues were then beaten in the semi-finals by Atletico Madrid.

Bayern Munich remain the 13/5 favourites ahead of holders Real Madrid (11/4), after being drawn against Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk. Los Blancos, meanwhile, battle another Bundesliga outfit Schalke.

First leg ties will be played across two sets of dates in February (17th/18th or 24th/25th).

In the Europa League last 32 draw, seeded side Everton will face Swiss Super League side Young Boys Berne, while Merseyside neighbours face a tasty tie with Besiktas.

Tottenham also face a difficult test against Serie A side Fiorentina, and Scottish champions Celtic have a similar assignment after being paired with Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan.

Holders Sevilla face Borussia Monchengladbach, while Feyenoord v Roma and PSV Eindhvoen against Andre Villas-Boas’ Zenit St Petersburg are other eye-catching fixtures.
