Magpies making way up PL table and next face West Brom

| 09.11.2014

Having picked up three points from their opening six Premier League games, Newcastle United have now managed nine in their previous three. It is fair to say that Alan Pardew thrives under pressure, and is beginning to prove doubters wrong once more.

The Magpies now face West Bromwich Albion next, with the hosts winning just one of their last four matches in the league. Newcastle, therefore, are enticing 11/5 chances for victory again.

Northeast side Newcastle have also won three out of their five meetings with the Baggies, but lost last time out 1-0 at The Hawthorns. West Brom are 13/10 chances then to beat them again, and 7/1 by that scoreline, as they did previously away at Leicester City as well.

In five games on their own turf this term in the top flight, Alan Irvine’s men have managed three 2-2 draws, so take outstanding odds of 14/1 for them to achieve that exact result again, and 12/5 just for another share of the spoils.

Saido Berahino has been the Baggies main man this term, smashing in seven league goals from 10 games, with six of those being at The Hawthorns. His stand-out performances have earned him a debut England call-up, so take odds of 4/1 for him to celebrate by netting first here.

Burundi-born Berahino, meanwhile, has bagged braces twice this season already, so can be backed at 5/1 to score two or more again.

For Newcastle, Ayoze Perez has been their hero in the last couple of games. Having failed to net in his opening seven Premier League fixtures from the bench, he got both winners against Tottenham and then Liverpool. The young Spaniard is 15/8 in the anytime market, and 13/2 to score last for the third games running.

West Brom will be without Craig Gardner, Silvestre Varela and Jonas Olsson for this battle, so Claudio Yacob or Youssouf Mulumbu will be vying for a starting spot.

For Newcastle, meanwhile, Papiss Cisse, Cheick Tiote and Mike Williamson are all doubts and Gabriel Obertan certainly misses the trip.

New Magpies star Rolando Aarons could therefore, feature again following his goal against Manchester City in the Capital One Cup, with the Jamaican-born attacker priced at 7/2 to score anytime here.
