Juve can go clear in Serie A if they tackle Turin derby as expected

With Roma not playing Inter Milan until later on Sunday, November 30th, Serie A leaders and Italian champions Juventus can extend their advantage to six points by socking it to their neighbours Torino.

The Bull, as Turin’s second team are nicknamed, have lost without scoring in all of the last six derbies and last bested Juve in a league encounter back in 1995. It’s no wonder, then, Coal make Massimiliano Allegri’s Old Lady odds-on 3/10 favourites for the win.

Visitors Torino are rank 10/1 outsiders as a result of that woeful record, plus the fact they sit 15th in Serie A. Even a draw frankly looks a remote prospect at 4/1.

Juventus, chasing a fourth straight Scudetto, can be confident of derby delight thanks to their strike pairing and midfielder Claudio Marchisio’s previous in this fixture. He has three in his last three starts against this fellow Tuscan team, so should definitely be considered at 7/4 in the anytime market.

Carlos Tevez is Serie A’s leading marksman following four goals in his last two league outings. The Argentina international who once crossed the Manchester divide is a 5/2 chance to score first for the Old Lady, having done so in this fixture back in February.

Basque target man Fernando Llorente, meanwhile, will know plenty about Bullfights. It’s a sport in his native Spain, and the centre forward has found form recently with three in as many matches across all competitions. Llorente is a 10/11 chance to net again anytime.

If, and it is a huge if, Torino are to stand any chance at all of getting something, then they need their former Juve contingent to stand up and be counted. Up front, Brazilian-born Amauri and Fabio Quagliarella were both kicked to the curb by the Turin giants, so will be hungry to prove their old club wrong.

Quagliarella is 7/2 to come back and haunt Juventus, while Amauri is longer at 5/1. In defence, meanwhile, left back Cristian Molinaro and centre half Emiliano Morretti are part of a rearguard that is the best in the current bottom half of Serie A.

Torino need to keep club captain Kamil Glik on the pitch, though, after two red cards in the last four derbies. Highly-rated right back Matteo Darmian completes the visiting defence, but travelling fans will be jeering Angelo Ogbonna, who left the Bull for the Old Lady.

As their Turin rivals have an ageing attack, a win to nil for Juve looks a great shout at 3/4, especially when punters consider their fantastic current form; five straight wins in all competitions, keeping four clean sheets.
