Global superstar David Beckham’s legacy is set to live on in football, as his first born son Brooklyn has signed a one-year deal with Premier League third-favourites Arsenal (33/1).

The 15-year-old reportedly turned down the likes of his dad’s former club Manchester United as well as Chelsea, to join the Gunners’ academy, and Coral have offered special odds of 14/1 that he goes on play in the Premier League.

Beckham junior, meanwhile, is priced at 33/1 to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for the England senior side. These odds have dramatically shortened since Coral offered 500/1 on that same bet 15 years ago.

The Daily Star have quoted a source close to Brooklyn, after signing his first football contract, saying: “He has had other teams sniffing around and it was always going to be a case of when, not if, he was signed up by a big-name club.

“Arsenal realise he can be a huge talent. They have seen that potential and protected their asset.

“The club has signed him, fending off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the meantime,” the source added. “Next summer we may see him sign a big-money deal and with Arsenal.

“Brooklyn really has potential. [Arsene] Wenger was impressed with his talent, his attitude and his drive to succeed.”

Beckham senior, who once played in Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham’s academy, also has two other sons, Romeo (12) and Cruz (nine), who have both turned out for Gunners youth teams. There are odds of 20/1 available that either of them ever play in the Premier League.

“The Beckhams have a strong link with Arsenal despite David’s Manchester United past,” the source continued. “David has a good relationship with manager Arsene Wenger.”

It was thought that Brooklyn may have chosen the path to represent Man Utd, but he has odds of 66/1 to one day put on the Red Devils jersey for at least one senior appearance.
