Jenkins, Van Gerwen and Van Barneveld all to win at 9/4
Coral continue their daily enhanced specials for this prestigious World Grand Prix tournament in Dublin, by offering odds of 9/4 this time if all of Terry Jenkins, Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld win their second round matches.
Two time World Grand Prix runner-up Jenkins takes on Richie Burnett in the second fixture of the night, followed by world number one and 2012 champion Van Gerwen against Dean Winstanley and Premier League winner Barney versus Mervyn King.
Richie Burnett v Terry Jenkins
Jenkins is one of the most experienced players on the darts tour, having been a finalist on multiple occasions in the most recognised competitions. He is also a two-time runner-up at this event in 2006 and 2007, losing out only to the great Phil Taylor and double champion James Wade respectively.
The Herefordshire veteran now faces Welshman Burnett as 8/13 odds-on favourite for victory after convincingly seeing off Kim Huybrechts in the first round, averaging a whopping 95.12. In the Bulls’ six head-to-heads with Burnett, they have always been close, so take odds of 7/2 for Jenkins to win 3-2.
Michael van Gerwen v Dean Winstanley
Dutch titan Mighty Mike Van Gerwen takes the stage for the third battle of the evening against a player who he simply enjoys to compete against. The world number one and top seed has won five of their six head-to-heads, and always convincingly.
Tournament second-favourite Van Gerwen (5/2) swept aside his compatriot Vincent van der Voort in the opening round and is odds-on at 1/5 to win and 8/5 to beat Winstanley, who has never got past this stage at the World GP, 3-0.
Raymond van Barneveld v Mervyn King
From one Dutch giant of the game to another; recent Premier League champion Van Barneveld meets Mervyn King, a player he has beaten 18 times in their 26 head-to-heads.
They have faced each other three times at the World Grand Prix, with all those matches ending up with Barney winning to nil. Van Barneveld is odds-on at 8/15 for victory again, and 10/3 to do so 3-0, as he did at this stage in 2007.
