Recent history suggests a draw for giant killers Stoke and Swansea

Both head-to-heads between Stoke City and Swansea City ended in draws (1-1 and 3-3) last season in the Premier League, and you can back a share of the spoils again at 23/10. An odds-on price of 10/11, meanwhile, suggests each team will score again.

The Potters are undefeated in all three of their home matches since the Premier League’s inception, winning two, and they go into this game as 7/5 favourites for victory once more.

In the three top-flight fixtures this term at the Britannia, only three goals have been scored – all being 1-0 results – so Stoke are priced at 13/2 for that outcome again, while the Swans are 8/1 chances.

Mark Hughes’ men have certainly been in inconsistent form this season so far, beating Manchester City away and Newcastle United at home, while they have lost to travelling teams Aston Villa and Leicester City. Stoke are currently in 16th place with eight points after seven matches.

Swansea, however, have began the campaign in more assured fashion, and are now up in fifth, ahead of the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool. They have lost just twice all term, to Chelsea and Southampton, and are 21/10 to grab their first away win since defeating Manchester United on the opening day of the season. But the Swans have not tasted victory in their last four league games.

One man who can kick-start their fortunes, though, is Icelandic star Gylfi Sigurdsson. The attacker has six assists and a goal this term so far, and comes into this game on the back of bagging a winning brace for his country against the Netherlands. He is a tempting 10/3 to net anytime here.

Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony hit a double last term against Stoke, and scored last time out against the Magpies, so is 9/1 for two or more again or 7/4 in the anytime market.

For Stoke, Peter Crouch leads the way for them this season with three goals, and you can back the former England frontman, who also netted in this fixture last campaign, at 13/2 to be on target first again.

Former Man Utd man Mame Biram Diouf has two this term, meanwhile, including the winner against City, and is 7/4 to score anytime.

In terms of injuries for the Potters, Glenn Whelan, Marko Arnautovic and Robert Huth are all doubts. While for Swansea, Jonjo Shelvey and Leon Britton are out due to suspension and a knee problem respectively. Jordi Amat is a doubt.
