Gleaneagles and Found cut for Classics after French performances

| 05.10.2014

Aidan O’Brien almost pulled off a brilliant Group One double this afternoon in the two year old races at Longchamp with Found and Gleneagles, but for the subsequent disqualification of the latter, and Coral have cut both horses for next year’s English Classics.

Found showed a devastating turn of foot to win the Prix Marcel Boussac and has been cut to 5/1 favourite by Coral from 10/1 for next year’s QIPCO 1000 Guineas, and 8/1 favourite from 12/1 for next year’s Investec Oaks.

Gleneagles fought out a close finish to win the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere but was adjudged to have interfered with the second and the third horses and was disqualified and placed in third place. Despite his demotion, Coral have cut him to 10/1 from 14/1 for the QIPCO 2000 Guineas. He remains at 14/1 for the Investec Derby.

“Aidan O’Brien was unfortunate not to land a fantastic two year old Group One double this afternoon but the disappointment at the disqualification of Gleneagles will be more than tempered by the fact that he now has such a strong hand in both next year’s 1000 and 2000 QIPCO Guineas,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
