Chelsea, Liverpool, MK Dons come in as 9/2 Capital One Cup treble

| 28.10.2014

To celebrate the return of the Capital One Cup this midweek, Coral are offering customers a tasty treble of wins in 90 minutes for Chelsea, Liverpool and MK Dons at enhanced odds of 9/2.

Jose Mourinho’s men travel to League Two team Shrewsbury Town, Brendan Rodgers’ Reds host Swansea City and the Dons battle Steel City side Sheffield United. Liverpool and Chelsea are both odds-on for victory in normal time, while the Milton Keynes team are also short-priced favourites.

Here are some other reasons why this treble is a marvellous midweek bet.

Shrewsbury v Chelsea
Premier League leaders Chelsea won their last cup tie in Shropshire 4-0 back in 2003. A repeat scoreline is a 12/1 chance here, and the Blues are overwhelming odds-on favourites at 2/7 for victory again in 90 minutes.

Mourinho is likely to ring the changes, having played Manchester United just two days prior, so why not back man mountain defender Kurt Zouma to score? He netted the opener in the last round against Bolton Wanderers, and will pose a real set piece threat to Shrewsbury. Zouma is an 8/1 shot to score again anytime.

Liverpool v Swansea
The Reds are unbeaten in the last four league meetings with south Wales side Swansea. Having netted nine times against them in the previous two at Anfield, Liverpool are odds-on 8/11 favourites to win in normal time.

Jordan Henderson bagged a brace when the Swans were last on Merseyside, so is 5/1 to get a goal again anytime. For two or more, the Reds’ vice-captain is 33/1.

MK Dons v Sheffield United
Karl Robinson’s Dons have been victorious by the same scoreline of 1-0 in three of their last five encounters with the Blades. A home win 90 minutes here is 5/4, while an exact repeat result is 17/2.

On-loan Arsenal striker Benik Afobe has five goals in his previous four outings in all competitions at Stadium MK. He is 5/4 to be on target again anytime. Talented Dons teenager Dele Alli, meanwhile, has caught the eye in midfield during this cup run and is a 7/2 chance in the same market.
