Bookies welcome Champions Day fields despite ground concerns

| 16.10.2014

Cirrus Des Aigles heads Coral’s betting for Saturday’s Qipco Champion Stakes at 6-4, following the final declarations for the Ascot showpiece card today. The 2,000 Guineas winner Night Of Thunder is 9-4 favourite for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, G Force heads the market for the Sprint at 3-1, while the Ascot Gold Cup winner Leading Light is 9-4 favourite for the Long Distance Cup.

“Despite the heavy rainfall that Ascot has experienced in recent days, the final fields for the fourth British Champions Day have held up extremely well as far as we’re concerned, with all the races providing competitive, interesting and quality betting action, with the all important each-way terms of first three home in every Group contest, and as a result we have little doubt the card will prove a hit with punters this weekend, ” said Coral’s David Stevens.
