Arsenal transfer news: Ozil to City? Moore on the move from Foxes?

| 22.10.2014

We at Coral wish Arsene Wenger a very happy 65th birthday today, and to celebrate we provide you with three tasty rumours surrounding Premier League title chances Arsenal (33/1).

First up, unfortunately we remind the French managerial legend about one of his perhaps less impressive buys during his long Gunners tenure, Musut Ozil.

The German, who was signed for a whopping reported £42.5m fee, smashing the club’s transfer record, is now being heavily linked with a move to northern England with Manchester City interested.

According to reports, City manager Manuel Pellegrini has asked his club to sign him as a possible replacement for Yaya Toure, with Ozil said to be now valued at only £32m, which it seems Wenger would be willing to accept.

The attacker is currently out injured so has been ruled out of Arsenal’s trip to Anderlecht for their in the Champions League match. They are odds-on at 5/6 to win without Ozil, to give Wenger the perfect birthday gift in Belgium.

Both the Gunners and City are also linked with Leicester City centre back Liam Moore. The England Under-21 star has highly impressed for the Foxes this term, having played every minute of every Premier League game so far, helping his side take points off the likes of Everton, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Arsenal are very thin at the back, with Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna both leaving this summer, and they only have six recognised first team defenders.

Moore, who can also be deployed at right back, was apparently the subject of a move to Fulham last January, but Leicester rejected a £5m bid. The Gunners also continue to track Celtic’s Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, who could be available for around £8m.

Finally, although bad news this time; Barcelona’s newest star Munir El Haddadi, also a Chelsea target, will apparently reject any opportunity to move away from the Nou Camp.

The recent Spain call-up, 19, reportedly has a release clause of only £9.4m, but has featured 10 times already this term in the Champions League and La Liga. El Haddadi’s performances so far this term have seen him getting a goal and assist, and have already earned himself a first international cap.
