Yorkshire Derby on Yorkshire Day as Rhinos host Bulls

| 01.08.2014

Leeds are aiming for a second win on the spin as they host west Yorkshire neighbours Bradford, who have already been relegated from the Super League. The Rhinos saw off Salford 22-18 last time out, in what was a workmanlike performance, and are preparing to lock horns with the Bulls, who pulled off a shock win against Wigan in their last outing.

James Lowes’ side are 5/1 to beat Leeds, who are odds-on at 1/8. Skipper Kevin Sinfield is still suspended following his headbutt on Castleford Tiger’s Luke Dorn, though Zac Hardaker stepped up in his absence against the Red Devils, scoring first for the Rhinos and kicking three goals. The 22-year-old is 9/1 to cross the whitewash first, while winger Danny Williams who scored against the Warriors is 14/1 to breach the in goal area first against his former club.

Meanwhile, Catalans host Warrington, and both clubs will be keen to get back to winning ways, after the French outfit lost 38-16 to Huddersfield and the Wolves went down 40-26 in their match against Wakefield in the previous round of fixtures.

It was perhaps no surprise to anyone that Morgan Escare scored for the Dragons, who are odds-on at 4/6 for victory, while the full back is 6/1 in the first scorer market. Warrington, who are 5/4 to win the match in the south of France, trail top of the table St Helens by six points, however will be keen to further cement their play-off credentials. Joel Monaghan, who is the Super League’s top scorer with 22 tries, and one ahead of Escare, is 7/1 to put the first four points on the board.

St Helens visit Humberside outfit Hull FC, in what could be a tricky encounter for the Lancashire outfit. The Saints have won their last three games on the bounce, and are playing some of the best rugby in Super League. Odds-on at 8/15 for the win, they can stay on top of the standings if they defeat Hull, who are 6/4 to record a victory in front of what will be a raucous home crowd. Tommy Makinson is 7/1 to cross the whitewash first for the visitors, while Jamie Shaul at 10/1 could do so first for Airlie Birds.
