SPORTSBOOK ODDS

English novelist David Mitchell, the author of The Bone Clocks, has been installed as the 6-1 favourite to win The Man Booker Prize 2014 with bookmaker Coral.

Twice shortlisted Ali Smith and fellow British writer Neel Mukherjee are the joint 7-1 second favorites, while Paul Kingsnorth, author of the most left-field book on the list, The Wake, is the 16-1 outsider to be awarded the accolade.

“British talent is dominating the betting for this year’s Man Booker Prize, and although we have just opened the betting, most money has come for David Mitchell,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
