Goodnight Phil! Neville odds-on to get the late night shift

| 16.06.2014
SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Phil Neville is odds-on at 2-5 to co-commentate on any of the five remaining 11pm World Cup group games on the BBC, despite being accused of putting viewers to sleep.

Neville’s commentary during England’s opening game against Italy was slammed as “boring” and “robotic”, but Coral still make him even money to co-commentate on the Three Lions’ next clash against Uruguay on Thursday night, while he’s 10-1 to be dropped from the line-up.

With tongue firmly in cheek, the firm is offering odds of 1000-1 that he releases a sleep aid CD or gets a job as the automated voice of a sat nav.

“With Phil Neville odds-on to commentate on the late night World Cup games, he’ll really need to come out from under the covers if he intends on keeping viewers awake,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
