Back Suarez and Dzeko in our Sunday Scorer Special

| 11.05.2014

While all three relegation spots have already been filled before the season’s end, a Premier League title is still up for grabs, with Manchester City leading Liverpool by two points and a superior goal difference going into the final game.

Coral are offering enhanced odds, of 2/1, on both Luis Suarez and Edin Dzeko to score in their season finales (against Newcastle and West Ham respectively). Suarez, who has netted 31 times in 32 appearances for Liverpool this season, may well be playing his last game for the Reds and the gifted forward will undoubtedly seek to impress ahead of a rumoured move to Spain. Dzeko, on the other hand, who scored both goals in City’s midweek 2-0 win at Aston Villa, has been consistently clinical in front of goal this season. He will also know that victory on Sunday will win his team the Premier League title for the second time in three years.

Uruguayan Suarez, in fine form for club and country, has bolstered his goal tally with five doubles and two hat tricks in the Premier League this season, and has scored two in his last three appearances for Liverpool. His reputation for destroying weaker teams, and the requirement to win to keep title hopes alive, will surely inspire an attacking performance; putting Suarez in his element.

Dzeko, whilst not in the same bracket as his Liverpool counterpart, has scored five in his last three games for City; including a crucial brace against Everton last Saturday. A dozen goals since the New Year have made him the Premier League’s top scorer in 2014, and he has been a consistent performer since a £27m move from Wolfsburg in 2011.

Liverpool and City both play their crucial final games at home, with Liverpool odds on at 1/6 to beat Newcastle, while City are 1/7 to overcome West Ham at the Etihad. With two excellent strikers playing in what may be career defining games, 2/1 for both to score seems an attractive proposition.
