Coral’s head of PR David Stevens joined talkSPORT host Alan Brazil, and former England and Lions rugby union legend Brian Moore, on the programme’s daily download.

A discussion on this week’s racing kicked off the show, but the topic soon turned to the England squad and the World Cup.

Stevens took the side of ex-England under 21s boss Stuart Pearce and his recent comments that teenage left back Luke Shaw will be more than just a spectator at this tournament, after been picked over centurion Ashley Cole.

The former World Cup participant with Scotland, Brazil, meanwhile, believes England lack of goals will be a problem, even with the likes of striker Daniel Sturridge, who netted 21 times in the Premier League this season, leading the line.

Mid-way into the recording, Stevens announced that Brazil will in fact be Coral’s official World Cup ambassador in his namesake country Brazil, at the Copacabana, and the Scot is already getting into the samba spirit.

While Brazil (the person) was reluctant to pose in speedos for the official photo shoot, Moore was also unable to convince Coral to offer odds on the Ipswich cult hero getting arrested at anytime in Brazil (the country).

Alan will use his expert football knowledge throughout the tournament, whilst out in South America, to provide previews, tips and news on the the sport’s elite competition.

Brazil’s insight can be found on the Coral World Cup news site, where he has his own section.

During the show, Coral also revealed a tournament special bet. If the competition first and second favourites, Brazil and Argentina respectively, win the World Cup, then you win your money back.

This fantastic offer is all the more enticing if you were to go patriotic and back Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions at 28/1 top go all the way for the first time since 1966. If England did happen to fall short once again, then you would have the South American giants to save you.

The offer is limited to a maximum of £25 and full terms and conditions apply.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Coral World Cup news site throughout the tournament to get all the insight from Alan Brazil in Brazil.
