Bookies offer betting on 17th at Sawgrass in Players Championship

| 07.05.2014

Coral are betting on the number of balls which will go into the water at the infamous signature 17th hole at Sawgrass in the Players Championship this week. The leading bookmaker goes 11-10 for there to be over 45 in the lake. It is 6-5 for there to be under 40 balls in the water over the four days, while between 40 and 45 inclusive is 9-2.

There is also betting available on there being a hole in one at the 17th this year, in which Coral go 6-1.

In the outright market, Rory McIlroy is the 12-1 favourite to win the tournament, whereas former winners Adam Scott and Matt Kuchar are 18-1 second best in the betting for the unofficial fifth major.
