Belgium, France and Germany in tasty 7/2 treble

| 31.05.2014

Coral offer enhanced odds on an international friendly treble featuring three of European football’s heavyweights.

A pre-World Cup special price of 7/2 for Brazil finalists and odds-on favourites Belgium, France and Germany to win their Sunday games against Sweden, Paraguay and Cameroon is attractive, and here’s why.

Belgium vs Sweden
The Red Devils take on a Sweden team lacking in panache, and still in mourning over their failure to reach Brazil – a wound deepened by their recent friendly defeat to rivals Denmark, where they failed to score. By contrast, Belgium are in blistering form, having thumped neighbours Luxembourg 5-1 last time out.

Marc Wilmots will again have Premier League duo Eden Hazard and Vincent Kompany at his disposal, alongside La Liga winning goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Not even Jose Mourinho would bet against Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku adding to last week’s hat-trick, while the addition of Manchester United teenage talent Adnan Januzaj is also a timely boost, as the attacking midfielder looks to build on his impressive debut.

France vs Paraguay
Favourites France have good reason to be confident going into the game against Paraguay, having netted six goals in their last two games against Norway and the Netherlands. Olivier Giroud, who was their joint-top scorer in qualifying for Brazil, stepped up to bag a brace in their emphatic 4-0 victory over the Norwegians.

The pressure will instead be on Paraguay, who conceded six goals in their last three games, as their shaky defence faces a forward line that could potentially feature any three of Giroud, Karim Benzema, Loic Remy and Antoine Griezmann. Didier Deschamps’ fearsome attacking quartet mustered 22, 24, 14 and 21 club goals between them respectively this season.

Germany vs Cameroon
Germany look set to keep the momentum going this weekend and steamroll their way to the World Cup, as they are unbeaten in their last nine international games. They face a Cameroon side fresh from defeat to Paraguay, their second loss in three games, having conceded seven goals.

With competition for places so intense, Joachim Low’s men will be looking to prove themselves ahead of the final squad announcement on June 2nd, as the manager faces tough selection decisions. In-form Thomas Muller and Marco Reus have 39 goals between them this season for their clubs, and are vying for places against World Cup stalwarts Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski. Other talented youngsters, such as Mario Gotze, meanwhile, are also snapping at their heels for inclusion.
