Punters pile into Pochettino for Spurs job

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Coral has slashed the odds on Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino taking over from Tim Sherwood at Tottenham in the summer into 4-1 from 10-1 after support for the Argentine.

Early favourite Louis Van Gaal is still heading the betting but has drifted from 1-3 out to 4-9 with Coral, while Harry Redknapp remains at 20-1 to return to White Hart Lane for a second spell following his sacking in 2012.

“The majority of money in the last 24 hours has come for Pochettino. At this stage the betting suggests it is a two horse race between the Southampton man and Louis Van Gaal,” said Coral’s John Hill.

**Next permanent Tottenham manager

4-9 Louis Van Gaal, 4-1 Maurico Pochettino, 20-1 Harry Redknapp, Jurgen Klinsmann, 25-1 Michael Laudrup, Roberto Mancini, 33-1 Glenn Hoddle, Frank De Boer, Carlo Ancelotti, Jurgen Klopp, 50-1 Diego Simeone.
