Neil Adams odds-on to be at Norwich next season
New Norwich City manager Neil Adams is as short as 1-3 with bookmaker Coral to still be in charge of the club on the opening day of next season, while it’s 2-1 that he’s not.
Chris Hughton was the latest sack race casualty at the weekend and Coral is now betting on how many managers lose their job before the end of the season. It’s even money that one or more managers are given their marching orders before May 11, whereas it’s 8-11 that there are no more casualties.
Norwich are now out to 1-2 to stay in the Premier League after the weekend’s action, while they are 5-4 to be relegated from the top flight.
“Chris Hughton is the latest casualty in the sack race and it does not come as a big surprise to us or punters as he was the favourite to leave going into the weekend. The odds now suggest that Neil Adams is going to be given the opportunity to earn the job long-term, ” said Coral’s John Hill.
Meanwhile, Liverpool recorded their ninth consecutive victory yesterday with a 2-1 win over West Ham. As a result, manager Brendan Rodgers has been cut into 4-5 with Coral to be the Premier League Manager of the Year. Everton’s Roberto Martinez is next best at 4-1 after the Toffee’s victory over Arsenal at the weekend, while Manuel Pellegrini is available at 11-2.
