Coral offer great price if England whitewashed at World Cup

| 24.04.2014

With 49 days to go until the World Cup this summer, Coral continue their daily countdown with another fantastic offer special.

If, like most of the country, you don’t fancy England’s chances in Brazil, then you can take a mammoth price of 49/1 for Roy Hodgson’s men to lose all of their Group D games.

Here’s why this is an opportunity not to be passed up.

England are priced as third-favourites both to qualify and top their pool, at 8/15 and 2/1 respectively, that involves Uruguay, Italy (who have both won six World Cups collectively) and Costa Rica.

The Three Lions have faced two-time tournament champions Uruguay twice at the finals before, both without victory. They lost one of those, and the South Americans are favourites again at 6/4 to beat Roy Hodgson’s side in their second group game.

Captain Steven Gerrard will lead out his men in their opening World Cup match against Italy (four-time winners of the trophy). Again, England are not expected to get a victory here in Manaus, with the Azzurri priced at 11/8.

Italy and England have faced each other seven times in international tournament finals (World Cup and European Championship), with the latter winning just once and losing four.

England, meanwhile, have never faced Costa Rica, who they play last in the group. But, as The Three Lions are expected to be out by their opening two games, according to the odds, don’t bet against the Central Americans to cause a surprise.

They will be more acclimatised to the tough conditions, being situated on the world map just above South America. Costa Rica will also have the likes of Fulham forward Byran Ruiz and Arsenal attacker Joel Campbell, who scored a screamer against Manchester United this season for temporary side Olympiakos in the Champions League, to break England’s hearts.

The international minnows have recently beaten the likes of the more fashionable football sides Mexico and Paraguay.

Keep an eye out for the next offers too, that run daily until the start of the World Cup.
