Atletico Madrid, PSG and AC Milan an 11/4 treble with Coral

| 12.04.2014

If punters look to the continent, they will see there are great bets besides the FA Cup semi-final and possible Premier League title decider. Back Atletico Madrid, PSG and AC Milan for victories in La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A respectively, and you get boosted odds of 11/4.

Diego Simeone’s men, who have reached the Champions League semi-finals, face a Madrid derby at cross-capital rivals Getafe; PSG travel to Lyon, and are closing in on a second successive French top-flight title; and the Rossoneri host basement club Catania.

Getafe v Atletico Madrid
Spanish top-flight leaders Atletico won the reverse fixture 7-0, and establish a three-point lead over Real Madrid at the top with victory. Simeone can boast the second-best away record in the division, so his side are clear odds-on favourites for that at 4/9.

Atletico also have the best defensive record on the road, so a win to nil is slightly better value at even-money. Visiting top scorer Diego Costa has never lost a game against Getafe, managed by former Romania right back Cosmin Contra. The Brazilian-born Spain cap has five in seven when paired with this opposition, and is 5/2 to score first.

Costa’s strike partner David Villa, meanwhile, has a dozen goals in 18 career appearances, and four in his last three, against relegation-threatened Getafe. He is 7/2 to net two or more here.

Lyon v PSG
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is always a miss for Laurent Blanc’s Parisians, but he has not scored from open play against them. PSG have won their last three meetings with Lyon, including a 1-0 victory at the Stade Gerland in the previous campaign.

Odds of 6/1 say they will record this scoreline again. PSG are also odds-on at 5/6 for victory. In the continued absence of his top scorer, Blanc looks to Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan netted the opener in the reverse fixture, and is a 4/1 shot to repeat that here.

Midfield pair Yohan Cabaye (9/4 anytime) and Blaise Matuidi (7/2) both have goals against Lyon on their CVs, so back either to burst forward and supplement a likely front three of Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi (11/8) and Lucas Moura (13/8). Expected subs Jeremy Menez (6/4) and Javier Pastore (13/8) have also netted when paired with this opposition before.

AC Milan v Catania
Clarence Seedorf faces a club that has just made its third managerial change of the season. Catania rehired Rolando Maran only to sack him for the second time this term two-and-a-half months later. As they are rock bottom of Serie A, seven points from safety and without an away win all season, Milan are deserved odds-on favourites for victory at 4/11.

To make matters worse, Catania have never taken three points off the Rossoneri since returning to the top-flight in 2006. Despite the presence of a dozen Argentine footballers in their squad, the visitors have scored the fewest goals and conceded the most on their travels.

If Lazio lose, and Atalanta and Torino draw at best, a Milan win would take them seventh, and the table would make much better reading. Maverick forward Mario Balotelli has two in his last two outings against Catania, so looks tempting a 3/1 to score first, or last.

Fellow Rossoneri striker Giampaolo Pazzini has six in a dozen appearances, and bagged a brace on his previous encounter with this opposition. Odds of 4/1 say he will score two or more.
